Hoist is both a command and a submenu of the Outline menu. When chosen, the Hoist submenu displays the Hoist, De-Hoist and De-Hoist All commands.
The Hoist command isolates and displays a suboutline from the overall outline in the upper-left corner of the screen. Once you’ve hoisted a suboutline, you can also hoist a sublevel of it. The maximum number of hoists is 10. The status box in the lower-left corner of the outline window displays the current number hoists. The De-Hoist command allows you to "undo" hoisted headlines, redisplaying them again with the complete outline. De-hoist All is a fast way to completely de-hoist an entire outline, no matter how many times you have previously chosen Hoist.
